Hawaiian Bread French Toast

Hawaiian bread French toast are pillowy soft cubes of bread that are soaked inside a pumpkin spice custard.

STEP 1:  To make custard, combine half and half, eggs, spices, sugar, vanilla, and pumpkin puree.

STEP 2:  Strain custard through a fine into a large bowl.

STEP 3:  Soak Hawaiian rolls inside pumpkin custard for 1 minute on each side.

STEP 4:  Heat butter in nonstick skillet and add soaked Hawaiian rolls.  Make sure not to overcrowd the pan.

STEP 5:  Cook Hawaiian rolls over medium heat until golden brown, about 30 seconds per side.

STEP 6:  Top with softened butter, powdered sugar, and candied pecans.

STEP 7:  Drizzle with warm maple syrup.  Serve immediately.
