This 6 inch chocolate cake recipe is perfect for Valentine's Day, date night or anniversaries.  It's fudgy, moist and so decadent.

STEP 1:  Sift dry ingredients into a large bowl.

STEP 2:  In a small bowl or measuring cup, combine eggs, oil, vanilla, and buttermilk.

STEP 3:  Add wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.  Mix just until combined.

STEP 4:  Pour batter into 3 (6 inch) cake pans.  Bake at 350 degrees for 18-20 minutes.  Let cool completely.

STEP 5:  To make frosting, whip together cream cheese, butter, sifted powdered sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and vanilla extract.

STEP 6:  Take each cake layer and spread chocolate frosting evenly.  Spread remaining frosting on the top and sides of the cake.

STEP 7:  Pipe rosettes by using Wilton 1M tip.  Garnish with shaved chocolate and fresh raspberries.
